The huge and complex Gorgon project based around Barrow Island kicked off with an equally masive dredging operation with Boskalis Australia utilising up to thirty vessels over a two year project life. Global Marine with Jeyco and Amog placed cyclone moorings for these vessels in several designated mooring area around Dampier and in the Monte Bellos Islands. This was the largest single mooring contract in Australia and was completed on time and on budget with a very happy customer at the end of it. The contract included ongoing maintenance and storage of moorings and hawsers for the two years of contract and now flowing on into the Wheatstone LNG project.
