CAPE LAMBERT WHARF EXTENSION 2007 - 2009

Scope of works:
Global Marine were contracted by McConnell Dowell over an 18 month period during the construction phase of a 250m extension to the ore loading wharf at Cape Lambert.
The operation began with the installation of several working and cyclone moorings for the construction fleet. Global Marine supplied several tugs, a crew transfer vessel and our Giant Multicat “Global Constructor” fitted with a crane on deck. These vessels provided cranage and towage of plant and construction materials to and from the wharf as well as personnel transfers and a standby recovery vessel. Operations were often hampered by unfavourable weather conditions during which Global Marine's crew performed with a diligent safety record.
Personnel transfer services were provided by our bus fleet trading as “Crew Transfer Solutions”, on a 24 hr basis to move construction workers and equipment up and down the wharf. At the end of the contract further services were provided with 2 tugs and a crew transfer vessel for the lifting and sea fastening of the Jackup Barge “Santa Fe” aboard the submersible lift ship “Asian Atlas”.
Global Marine are proud to have provided support to the last 3 Cape Lambert wharf extensions, spread over nearly 8 years. On time, on budget and with a highly commendable safety record.
