POPES NOSE BRIDGE 2005
Scope of works:
Another project for Main Roads WA. 8 bridge support piles in a fast flowing river were found, after construction to need protection from corrosion and abrasion. Global Marine & Engineering were called in to look at how it could be done in such fast moving water and tidal ranges of over 5 meters.
A system of cofferdams and pumps were used to allow concrete to be poured to above low tide level and Denso wrapping along with UHMWPE cover sheeting applied above.
A 10 yr guarantee was supplied and all is still in excellent condition at last inspection.
